Since it's been a while since I last blogged, when Carolyn suggested we had a team Christmas blog hop I thought this was a great way to get back in the swing of things. You should have arrived at me from Sharon's blog, if not why not start at the beginning here at Dawns.

The Dasher card was inspired from the card that I did for my general swaps at convention.

This was my convention swap card

I have used Welcome Christmas stamp set and Night of Navy, Elegant Eggplant and Bashful Blue ink. I have mat and layered onto Elegant Eggplant and Night of Navy card stock.

Dasher

On this card I have used Dasher, Serene Snowflakes and Curly Cute stamps, Night of Navy and Bashful Blue ink and card stock and the Scallop Trim Corner punch along with the Wide Oval and Scallop Oval.

I wanted to make something different from a card so my next project is a snow globe that I picked up from Home Bargains, they are for you to put in your own pictures.

For this I stamped and embossed Serene Snowflakes with White Embossing Powder on Basic Black card stock and then sprayed with Frost White Shimmer Paint, I then Stamped and embossed with Silver Embossing Powder one of the larger snowflakes and mounted that onto a piece of Whisper White card stock, I then went around the edges with Basic Black ink with a sponge dauber and then over the top with the Frost White Shimmer paint.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my creations, I will now pass you on to Kara. Enjoy the rest of the hop.

Hope you have a cuppa this is a long one.

Good afternoon. Thought I would share some of the things I have been working on over the last couple of weekends. I have a Stampin Up! workshop on Wednesday and like to try and have a few new creations to share with my workshop ladies each time. I hadn't done an exploding box for ages and thought the night and day papers would be perfect for this (have to say I love these papers and will making sure I have stocked up before the end of the mini catalogue) I have used a few of the different stamp sets inside to decorate it including, Vintage Vogue, flight of the butterfly and Christmas cheer no name a few. I also used the pretties Kit, I dyed the flowers using basic black re-inker in a little water and letting them sit a while, until I got the shade I was after. The verses just need added when I decide who it is for. The flower on top of the lid was done using the scalloped circle punch

I have also made a flip book using the same pack of night and day designer paper, again something else I haven't made for ages, think the last one I made of these was last year. The stamps used in the flip book are wondrous gift, the Merry Christmas part of the stamp out of loads of love, spot light on christmas, serene snowflakes and dasher. I also used the scalloped oval punch, larged oval punch and a few of the circle punches, the white snow flakes are the rub-ons in the mini catalogue. Again it is just waiting on verse in the middle.

This back and white card was using half a sheet of one of the two window sheets you get in the night and day designer paper pack. After making all three projects with these papers I have at least half the pack left. The stamp is from the season of joy stamp set, I love that stamp and use it a lot through out the year, there is one or two stamps in this set that are not just for christmas. The flower,(again is dyed using basic black re-inker) pearls and brad are out the pretties kit.

The next card was inspired by a card I saw on Jak Heaths blog, I loved this card and this is my version using the bird punch and also the small heart punch to make the big rose in orchid opulence to match the rest of the card the background stamp is bella toile.

The next card was also inspired by this card here again one of Jak's. I used the bird punch and also the eyelet punch in this card. The ribbon is soft sude, one of the new colours available at the moment while stocks last, the ink pad and card stock will be carried over to the new catalogue. The stamp sets are fun and fast notes and oval all.

And if you have lasted this long you have done well lol, the last card is using the cottage wall desginer paper this is also only available while stacks last, the stamp set is vintage vogue using rich razzleberry ink, the swirl stamp is from the season of joy stamp set (told you I like this stamp) and is inked up with mellow moss ink the card base is mellow moss.

If you managed to get to the bottom of this post thank you for sticking with it, I will try and post more regular and keep post shorter in future. If anyone is interested in any of the products used in these cards they can contact me through the e-mail address at the top of the page.

thanks for reading

Introducing Stampin’ Up!’s Colour Renovation!

Stampin' Up! has just announced that they are introducing a colour renovation in the new 2010/2011 Ideas book and Catalogue out in October.

The purpose of this post is to allow you to plan and order you’re favourite colours before they retire or stock up on the reinkers, card stock or ribbon - I know I will be!

One of the reasons Stampin' Up! are renovating their colours is to keep up-to-date with the current trends in colours The good thing for us is that we get some of the “In Colours” that the U.S.,Canada,Australia and New Zealand already have or have had in the past – something we have not had the privilege of before. I hope you will be as excited as I am about the new colours!
